Honoring Tradition,  Serving Others

At Lansing Catholic Central High School there is a difference.  Through strengthening faith, serving others, building excellence and honoring tradition, we provide our students the opportunity to be their best.

In the classroom, on the playing fields, in the church or through community endeavors, students are continuously challenged to become life-long learners and people of faith.

Building Excellence
Building excellence in academics is the highest priority at Lansing Catholic Central High School.  Ninety-six percent of our graduates are accepted by the college or university of their choice.

Our college-prep curriculum challenges students and prepares them for a successful university experience.  In addition to our regular curriculum, Advanced Placement and Honors courses are offered so the students may earn college credits while still in high school.

Students at Lansing Catholic Central do well on standardized tests.  Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores average above 1200; average ACT composites are higher than 25.  Lansing Catholic Central students may also take the Michigan Education Assessment Program (MEAP) tests to qualify for scholarships.

Lansing Catholic's strong academic tradition is the hallmark of the school.  Students attend top-tier colleges following graduation, including Ivy League schools. Lansing Catholic students go on to become professionals whose faiths is strongly integrated into their lives.

Strengthening Faith

As teachers, clergy, parents and staff all work to strengthen their own faith, students learn one of the most valuable lessons of all: Faith is not a destination - it is a journey with God and their community.  At Lansing Catholic Central High School, it's not enough to say that faith is important - we must live it.

Our goal at Lansing Catholic is simple: To reinforce the values taught at home and respect the dignity of all.

Lansing Catholic Central High School is a community of believers.  As such, students have opportunities to:

  • Develop personal spirituality
  • Plan and participate in liturgical celebrations
  • Participate in day-long retreats
  • Explore issues concerning morality and values
  • Discuss theological and philosophical points of view

Serving Others
Service is an integral part of the educational experience at Lansing Catholic Central High School.  Sharing our personal talents and gifts with neighbors, community members and our Church community makes Jesus' command to care for one another real.

Service to others also ensures that the lessons taught at Lansing Catholic Central High School reach beyond the walls of our school - into the neediest parts of our community where our help is essential.

Lansing Catholic Central students are required to fulfill service hours that may include:

  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters
  • Service to the poor
  • Ambassadors to seventh and eighth graders
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • National Honor Society projects
  • Church service projects
  • Community service opportunities

Regardless of what a student chooses as his or her service project, they learn that to truly understand Jesus, we must become like him - a servant to others.
