School/ Community

        Lansing Catholic Central High School is a comprehensive secondary school serving the varied educational needs of all catholic / non-catholic youth in the area.  The school is under the direction of the Bishop of Lansing through the Diocesan Board of Education.  Direct responsibility for the operation of the school lies with the Chief Administrative Officer (Principal) and the Lansing Catholic Central Board of Education, whose membership includes representatives from those parishes that have one or more students in attendance.

Accreditation / Membership

        Lansing Catholic Central is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools.  The school is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, the National Association of College Admission Counselors, and the National Catholic Education Association.  In 1987, the school was one of 247 in the nation recognized by the United States Department of Education for overall excellence.

Grade Point / Class Rank

        Course selections at Lansing Catholic Central are not weighted in the determination of G.P.A. or class rank.  Students who achieve a grade point average of 3.8 or above are recognized for Highest Honors, 3.5 to 3.79 for High Honors, and 3.0 to 3.49 achieve Honor Roll status.  These averages are calculated each semester.  Final class rank is determined by averaging the grades the student has received up to and including the first semester of the senior year.

Advanced Classes

        Advanced Placement (AP) Courses in Calculus, Government, Biology, English, and Art are offered.  Advanced language courses are available on an individual basis.  Eight honors classes, with more being planned, are also available.
