The average ratio of students per high school counselor has increased to 400:1

Because of other duties, counselors now spend, on average, less than 10 hours per week on 1:1 college planning.  This equates to less than one hour per year per student, a major dilemma for all concerned.

It now costs an average of $14,000 per year at a public college and $24,000 per year at a private college.

Poor college planning is a reason college students in standard 4-year programs, take an average of nearly six years to graduate.
